Acacia Wood furniture is some of the best outdoor furniture that can be made, but do you know why? First, let us talk about what acacia is.
Acacia (Acacia mangium) falls under the category of light hardwood. Also known as thorntrees or wattles, acacia trees are native to Australia, the Far East and other tropical to warm climate regions. The acacia trees are fast-growing and flourish in relatively poor soil. Plantations of acacia trees are common in Indonesia and Malaysia.
Acacia wood is often used to make furniture. It is particularly suited to outdoor furniture as acacia is very durable and stands up well to the outside elements. Acacia furniture can be distinguished by the thin grain and the flame design common to the wood. Outdoor sitting areas reflect warmth and comfort from the acacia’s various shades of color and high polish.
