Are
you thinking of starting a garden? Make sure that you have all of
the proper garden
supplies. Here is a check-list of some of our favorite
garden supplies, ones that you might not have already thought of:
· Jute twine – as far as important garden supplies go,
twine may not top your list, but we have found it to be very helpful
for bundling up yard debris as well as tying up limbs and for tying
plants to stakes. And if you forget where you have used your jute
twine, it is ok. It is environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
· Wallo’ Water (or similar item) – this item will
allow you to get an early start on planting your tomatoes, squash,
or other plants. How so? This self-standing item will keep any plant
that it surrounds free from freezing.
· Tomato tower – with a tomato tower, you can let your
tomatoes grow freely… within limits. If you are planning on
growing tomatoes, a tomato tower is one of the most helpful garden
supplies that you can get. By encouraging the tomato plant to grow
up, the tower keeps tomatoes off the ground and away from rodents
and moisture damage.
· Deer repellent – as far as garden supplies go, deer
repellant is one that will only be of use to a minority of gardeners.
But for those that have any deer around, deer repellent is very necessary.
Make surer that you buy one that is environmentally friendly. Try
out one like, Not Tonight Deer.
· pH soil tester – this will allow you to relatively
quickly test the pH in your soil. Make sure that you have the right
pH balance for your garden.
· Indonesian bat guano – if you are looking for phosphorus
for your soil, this is the stuff to get! It is suitable for both your
indoor and outdoor plants. Use this item to encourage the production
of heavier yields of peppers, tomatoes, melons, and other plants!
So, most of these garden supplies are probably not ones that you
already have, but they are certainly ones that you should consider
getting. These days, it can be hard to find the right garden supplies
for your garden… not because there are not any available, but
because there are so many different types available. How are you supposed
to know which garden supplies are going to help you the most?
Just remember to be patient and decide for yourself which garden
supplies you most need. You may not need a pH soil tester, and your
plants may grow up just fine without bat guano. These are just a few
extra garden supplies that could possibly be of help to you.
Sometimes the best way to figure out which garden supplies are going
to work best for you and your garden is through basic, old trial and
error!
