A bench is great backyard accessory because it takes up very little space but seats several people. And if you’re looking for a gorgeous, durable, maintenance free bench then teak is the only way to go.

Teak is a large East Indian tree known for its durability which makes it an excellent material for furniture building. Teak has incredible water resistant properties which is why it is also an extremely popular material for ship building. You can leave it outside year-round in rain and snow and it won't mold or mildew and will still look beautiful.

Teak also requires NO maintenance and will look great for years! As it ages it will gradually develop a beautiful silvery green color as oxidation occurs. Most people love the rustic look this gives the furniture however, if you want to keep the original rich teak color then simply use a teak sealant once or twice a year.
